The Jamhuri Kenya Sports Excellence Awards 2026 is here — and it is the most comprehensive sports recognition programme Kenya has ever seen. With 65 categories across 7 groups, this awards ceremony goes beyond just honouring star players. It celebrates every person who makes Kenyan football and sports great — from grassroots coaches and match officials to sports journalists and stadium managers.

What Are the Jamhuri Sports Excellence Awards?

This is a national recognition programme that identifies and celebrates the most impactful individuals, teams, clubs, and organisations in Kenyan sports. The focus is on impact — not just skill or fame, but the real difference these people are making in their communities and in the sport.

The 7 Award Groups

  • Players — 18 categories covering footballers, goal scorers, goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards, fair play players, rising stars, and kid footballers (male and female).
  • Coaching & Technical Development — 6 categories for coaches at every level including youth, grassroots, and women's football.
  • Team, Club & Competition — 8 categories for outstanding teams, community clubs, academies, and school programmes.
  • Refereeing & Match Officials — 6 categories recognising referees and assistant referees.
  • Governance, Administration & Support Staff — 11 categories for administrators, safeguarding officers, team managers, kit managers, and medical teams.
  • Media & Digital Sports Excellence — 13 categories for journalists, TV/radio presenters, photographers, videographers, and digital creators.
  • Infrastructure, Sponsorship & Industry — 3 categories for stadiums, sponsors, and brands that support Kenyan sports.

How to Participate
